Job well done

Apple iPad and iTunes Help

I asked Jan to take a look at my laptop as I couldn’t update anything on my phone or ipad as there was no storage and I had lost word since windows 8 was added. Not only were all the problems sorted out but I learnt allot and very good price too!!! Defo use him again in fact going to ask if I can have a lesson to learn more as I’m not afraid of my laptop any more!!!

The New ‘pooter’

After running Windows XP for the past twenty years it was beginning to be obvious that I needed an upgrade in the computing department.

I had already purchased a new machine which came with Windows 10 and I was faced with the problem of re-organising my fairly simple needs. I called Jan who, after a grilling on the ‘phone established my requirements and then set to work bringing them to life on the new kit.

He also found time to do a bit of training which restored some of my lost confidence and all at a very reasonable cost.

I have no hesitation in recommending Jan at all!

He’s very efficient and a pleasant, patient soul with it!

When my poorly performing, ancient PC died suddenly, the potential panic & hassle of what to do next and how to go about replacing it was completely eliminated once I contacted Jan at Oakley IT.

Incredible service

Thoroughly recommended

I was just about to get rid if my PC as it was just so slow but decided to contact OakleyIT to see if they could do something. Jan came round and performed miracles.

Scammers

Thank you Jan for putting my mind at ease after I was taken in by scammers (from India) on the 10/7/2019 who where determined to get a hold of my/my partners bank details – and I rebuffed them. I was not born yestersay as they say!!!!

Help after upgrade to Windows 10

EXCELLENT SERVICE

My computer was so frustratingly slow, I thought it would need replacing but Jan arrived at the arranged time, checked it thoroughly and sorted everything out really efficiently for a very modest fee. It now runs beautifully and Jan has saved me having to buy a new computer as well as connecting wi-fi and a DVD writer. He even put my pictures onto discs without charge! He really knows his stuff and gives very clear and useful advice without waffle. So glad I finally got round to speaking to him and will book annual services in future to keep my computer maintained. Just what I needed

Better than I had dared to hope

Excellent Service

My old HP laptop!!

My laptop had been “playing up” for some time, that is very slow, freezing whilst in use. Finally it lost its Wi-Fi connection.

I called Jan who came very promptly and did a thorough examination. He took the offending article away and resurrected it back to life ( appropriately it was over Easter). It now works like its normal self, and is no longer a frustration to use.

I would recommend Jan to anyone, his good service and attention to detail is much to be desired. Very much “what it says on the tin” so to speak.

Fantastic Fast Friendly Service

It’s Saturday evening with 2 Bank Holidays looming and my laptop totally stops working!!! Nightmare, potentially no laptop for 4 days!!! Unbearable… I text Jan Saturday evening and he called back within 5 minutes and was round within 3/4 hour and had fixed the problem and given me sound advice on other issues within 1/2hr. Updating my computer

Quick to help

Jan was a brilliant help when my laptop packed up.

I had put off getting it fixed for a few months thinking it was going to cost me hundreds, when I finally found Oakley IT and gave him a call he assured me it wasn’t the end for my laptop. He retrieved my files, replaced the hard drive and had it all working within a few days for a very low price!

Help with strange new laptop

I bought a new laptop and needed help to find my way round the new system.

Jan transferred my security package and installed my printer- things that I was finding impossible and tidied up my transfered files.

View from my new Windows

Having now acclimatised myself to the new and sleeker views from my new windows (ie. “7” as opposed to the old and familiar XP), I have now found time to say thank you for your advice regarding the long term security implications of continuing with my old friend XP and pointing me towards the change to the 7 system – for which I am extremely pleased. As you suggested, it is designed on similar lines, but with a few more bells and whistles, which once mastered are just as user friendly as XP ever was.

You arranged and carried out the change-overs and setting up in your usual accomplished, professional manner, providing both tuition, advice and suggestions in equal and helpful measure. All this at reasonable costs, little or no out of action time, and at times to fit in with my activities.

Whilst wishing to consider you as a friend, it is my hope that I will not be contacting you too often (in the nicest possible way) but feel sure that should the need arise you will not hesitate to help me.

Reluctant User

REPLACE WINDOWS XP

I was recommended to Jan by a friend who also lives in Clapham who had problems too.

I had a very slow PC and had been using XP, and needed to update it to Windows 7.

Jan first of all went through everything I had on PC, clearing out anything not needed. Not only did he install Windows 7, he talked me through each step, slowly.

I had so many pictures all over the place. He basically went through step by step what I needed to keep. He also installed better Anti Virus protection for me, as other one was not working correctly.

This was time consuming for him and have to say he has so patient with me. He has even positioned PC and rearranged whole desk to make life easier for me.

Not only do I have a better workstation, fast and efficient working PC. I also picked his brains on how to connect a JVC sound system to work through my TV, and sounds amazing.

Jan was here over 5 hours and was worth every penny he charged, which I will add was low for all he did.

He was so friendly and feel I have also made a friend. It’s a shame there are not more people in life like him. Its rare nowadays to meet genuine people.

His knowledge and expertise is vast and have learnt so much today.

He left me smiling, happy and so pleased with all he did for me.

I required an upgrade from Windows XP and had other issues that demanded a better spec PC.

Complete Satisfaction

I called Jan when my computer failed to function, after finding his details in the local Bedford News. He took the time to listen to what I had to say about my PC problem, and then explained what the possible causes could be. He then said there would be no call out charges and came to see my PC on the same day.

He took my PC away to repair and in the mean time offered me a replacement to ensure I was not without internet access for any length of time. He kept me updated as to what needed to be done, and I could not fault the service at all.

I will fully recommend him to friends and family, on the basis that he gets the job done, he knows what he is doing, and his charges are realistic too!

Apple iPad Repair – What a wonderful service!

I dropped my iPad and it stopped working completely. In London I had been told either it was unfixable or that it would cost several hundred pounds to fix.

Transformation!

I cannot recommend Jan highly enough .
He gave me the invaluable advice and support I needed to transform the IT equipment I had accumulated over the years into a much simpler, more effective working system in a very short space of time.
With some things he explained how I could sort it for myself … with others, he did it for me. He removed the hard disk from my 10 year old PC, retrieved the files I wanted to keep on to a memory stick and shredded anything else.

New life into an old machine ….

A new lease of life for my laptop!

I got Jan’s contact details from the Sharnbrook Review so I am pleased to get two testimonials into one review!

I dropped my laptop a few weeks ago and the screen developed a fault, followed shortly after by a warning of a faulty hard drive. It is a few years old but it was high spec when I bought it and would be quite dear to replace.

Up and working again!

Extremely pleased to have found Jan of OakleyIT. He sounded very knowledgeable on the phone when I first contacted him and this certainly proved to be the case when he came to diagnose our troublesome PC.

Laptop Repairs

I cannot recommend Jan and OakleyIT highly enough.

Jan responded promptly to my original request for help and was able to accommodate my repairs quickly. He also came out to my home in Kempston to talk the issues through and pick my laptop up.

He was very open and honest about what work he may have to do and kept me informed at all times. No work or repairs were carried out without running it past me first and making the time-scales and costs clear.

My laptop, which simply didn’t run at all before Jan got hold of it, now works fantastically. If anything it seems to run better/smoother.

PC Upgrade

Rescue of weak and old computers

My underpowered PC had become almost unusable due to a number of problems. Jan was able to explain that my security was not nearly as good as I thought, so there was some virus infestation. He not only fixed that and a number of other problems, but explained how.

In addition I had an old laptop which a previous consultant had failed to mend. Jan quickly diagnosed a totally damaged hard drive and fitted a new one. There were important files that I had been told could not be recovered but Jan explained how this could be done quite easily.

A good service

Money,Time,Expert Service

It took ages for our PC to do anything! Eg. we got used to doing other stuff while waiting to print something. Changing from one thing to another was really frustrating and using the Internet was becoming increasingly difficult. ‘You need to upgrade broadband.’ ‘It’s old get a laptop’ were comments I received. In 2 hours on site, Jan had cleared loads of background stuff from the PC never used and which was messing things up. At same time he gave simple explanations of how the PC works. Rejuvenation + Comprehension

Having suffered from a moribund PC for several months – action was required, thus with hesitation a call was made to OakleyIT; the hesitancy need not have been. Jan listened to my list of problems, rationalised them and suggested that the most cost effective way to proceed was an upgraded PC. So glad I found Jan

My PC was getting slower by the day and eventually I couldn’t access the Internet, so feared a virus had taken hold.

Jan visited (at exactly the time arranged) and diagnosed lots of unwanted rubbish on the PC, which he susequently cleared, and after a full service everything seems fine.

He has also installed some new software for me, talking me through the process so I could understand what was happening at each stage. His rates are very reasonable too!

Highly Recommended

This guy is awesome. Base Unit literally blew up in sons face when it failed to switch on. Jan popped out that same evening, took the base unit away and brought it back fully repaired the following afternoon! Knows his stuff and tells you what hes done in laymans terms. Doesnt ‘rip’ you off with hidden costs – genuine guy. Cant speak highly enough of him or what he stands for. Well Done Oakley IT!

Quick Turnaround

Great guy

My computer troubles were principally down to the “software” ie me!

Jan’s time spent putting me back in control of the beast and its programmes and protocols was invaluable.

Fantastic friendly & super quick service

Our computer has run slowly for what seems like forever, I’ve wasted hours on the phone to my broadband supplyer trying to get to the bottom of the problem, re-setting the router, doing various checks on the pc, even purchasing extra ‘bits’ at their suggestion and within two visits Jan has solved the lot! The computer is running brilliantly! He’s cleared 3 years of junk and unnecessary clutter that I didn’t even know I had! He’s gone above and beyond all expectation, even staying for well over his allocated time to correct another ongoing problem I had with my printer! He’s explained everything he’s done every step of the way in a simple, patient & unpatronising manner. So much so, I’m now thinking about booking him to come and deliver some home training. Honestly can’t thank you enough Jan, just wish I’d contacted you sooner!

Excellent Service

Jan spent the morning setting up Email, installing software on Windows 10, along with linking 3 PC’s to a shared printer.

I would never have had Email working without Jan’s help.

Encryption software
