Hijackers on my lap top ,based in Finchley ????? so I needed Jan’s help a.s.a.p.

A phone call ,then drop off my laptop at Jan’s house with a quick assessment on the problem. Left it with him over the weekend and problem fixed by Monday at a very reasonable price compared to other so called experts in town.

Jan has tremendous knowledge , skills and a desire to help people out and defeat the scammers , I would recommend him 100% , so if you have a problem then give him a ring you will not be disappointed ,many thanks Jan……………

Great Job – thank you

My daughters laptop had become nearly unusable being both very slow and behaving erractically. It is a good one and not old to give up on. We thought it was a virus that had really taken hold but couldn’t find anything – called Jan and he came round within minutes and thereafter provided an excellent service that completely recovered the laptop, sorted out lots of weaknesses and steered us to some great value new software to replace corrupted Microsoft package. Quick to help

Jan was a brilliant help when my laptop packed up.

PC Upgrade

Jan upgraded our desktop PC from Windows Vista to Windows 7, also loaded Kapersky anti-virus software.

He also found malware which had slipped through our old anti-virus programme and removed it. He gave advice regarding general maintenance which is really helpful.

When my son told me that he had called an IT man over to look at his laptop, I suspected another rip off job! Jan arrived within 2 hrs of calling him, took away with him 2 desktops from years ago that had photos we thought we had lost and my sons laptop. Within 24 hrs I had all our cherished photos retrieved and Daniel’s laptop working 100%. The New ‘pooter’

After running Windows XP for the past twenty years it was beginning to be obvious that I needed an upgrade in the computing department.

I had already purchased a new machine which came with Windows 10 and I was faced with the problem of re-organising my fairly simple needs. I called Jan who, after a grilling on the ‘phone established my requirements and then set to work bringing them to life on the new kit.

He also found time to do a bit of training which restored some of my lost confidence and all at a very reasonable cost.

Fantastic friendly & super quick service

Our computer has run slowly for what seems like forever, I’ve wasted hours on the phone to my broadband supplyer trying to get to the bottom of the problem, re-setting the router, doing various checks on the pc, even purchasing extra ‘bits’ at their suggestion and within two visits Jan has solved the lot! The computer is running brilliantly! He’s cleared 3 years of junk and unnecessary clutter that I didn’t even know I had! He’s gone above and beyond all expectation, even staying for well over his allocated time to correct another ongoing problem I had with my printer! He’s explained everything he’s done every step of the way in a simple, patient & unpatronising manner. So much so, I’m now thinking about booking him to come and deliver some home training. I contacted Jan to ask him to install a new printer/ scanner, and then give my computer an MOT. I was most impressed. He came quickly and spent all the time necessary to complete the job. Another Brilliant Help – Out!

Apple iPad and iTunes Help

I asked Jan to take a look at my laptop as I couldn’t update anything on my phone or ipad as there was no storage and I had lost word since windows 8 was added. Help with strange new laptop

My old HP laptop!!

My laptop had been “playing up” for some time, that is very slow, freezing whilst in use. Finally it lost its Wi-Fi connection.

I called Jan who came very promptly and did a thorough examination. He took the offending article away and resurrected it back to life ( appropriately it was over Easter). It now works like its normal self, and is no longer a frustration to use.

Complete Satisfaction

I called Jan when my computer failed to function, after finding his details in the local Bedford News. He took the time to listen to what I had to say about my PC problem, and then explained what the possible causes could be. He then said there would be no call out charges and came to see my PC on the same day.

He took my PC away to repair and in the mean time offered me a replacement to ensure I was not without internet access for any length of time. He kept me updated as to what needed to be done, and I could not fault the service at all.

Up and working again!

View from my new Windows

Having now acclimatised myself to the new and sleeker views from my new windows (ie. “7” as opposed to the old and familiar XP), I have now found time to say thank you for your advice regarding the long term security implications of continuing with my old friend XP and pointing me towards the change to the 7 system – for which I am extremely pleased. Help…. My Laptop Has Died!

Rescue of weak and old computers

My underpowered PC had become almost unusable due to a number of problems. Jan was able to explain that my security was not nearly as good as I thought, so there was some virus infestation. He not only fixed that and a number of other problems, but explained how.

In addition I had an old laptop which a previous consultant had failed to mend. Jan quickly diagnosed a totally damaged hard drive and fitted a new one. There were important files that I had been told could not be recovered but Jan explained how this could be done quite easily.

So glad I found Jan

My PC was getting slower by the day and eventually I couldn’t access the Internet, so feared a virus had taken hold.

Jan visited (at exactly the time arranged) and diagnosed lots of unwanted rubbish on the PC, which he susequently cleared, and after a full service everything seems fine.

He has also installed some new software for me, talking me through the process so I could understand what was happening at each stage. His rates are very reasonable too!

Money,Time,Expert Service

It took ages for our PC to do anything! Eg. we got used to doing other stuff while waiting to print something. Changing from one thing to another was really frustrating and using the Internet was becoming increasingly difficult. ‘You need to upgrade broadband.’ ‘It’s old get a laptop’ were comments I received. In 2 hours on site, Jan had cleared loads of background stuff from the PC never used and which was messing things up. At same time he gave simple explanations of how the PC works. No need to upgrade broadband. It is fine for what we need. Now its a pleasure to use it! Great service. Folks, you are dealing with someone who knows what he is doing and is trustworthy. Thanks Jan.

My computer was so frustratingly slow, I thought it would need replacing but Jan arrived at the arranged time, checked it thoroughly and sorted everything out really efficiently for a very modest fee. It now runs beautifully and Jan has saved me having to buy a new computer as well as connecting wi-fi and a DVD writer. He even put my pictures onto discs without charge! Laptop Repairs

I cannot recommend Jan and OakleyIT highly enough.

Jan responded promptly to my original request for help and was able to accommodate my repairs quickly. He also came out to my home in Kempston to talk the issues through and pick my laptop up.

He was very open and honest about what work he may have to do and kept me informed at all times. No work or repairs were carried out without running it past me first and making the time-scales and costs clear.

My laptop, which simply didn’t run at all before Jan got hold of it, now works fantastically. If anything it seems to run better/smoother.

Jan’s willingness to help and friendly nature was extremely refreshing, and his expertise was also clear for all to see.

Good Job!

Apple iPad Repair – What a wonderful service!

REPLACE WINDOWS XP

I was recommended to Jan by a friend who also lives in Clapham who had problems too.

I had a very slow PC and had been using XP, and needed to update it to Windows 7.

Jan first of all went through everything I had on PC, clearing out anything not needed. Not only did he install Windows 7, he talked me through each step, slowly.

I had so many pictures all over the place. He basically went through step by step what I needed to keep. He also installed better Anti Virus protection for me, as other one was not working correctly.

This was time consuming for him and have to say he has so patient with me. He has even positioned PC and rearranged whole desk to make life easier for me.

Not only do I have a better workstation, fast and efficient working PC. I also picked his brains on how to connect a JVC sound system to work through my TV, and sounds amazing.

Jan was here over 5 hours and was worth every penny he charged, which I will add was low for all he did.

He was so friendly and feel I have also made a friend. It’s a shame there are not more people in life like him. Its rare nowadays to meet genuine people.

His knowledge and expertise is vast and have learnt so much today.

He left me smiling, happy and so pleased with all he did for me.

Transformation!

I cannot recommend Jan highly enough .
He gave me the invaluable advice and support I needed to transform the IT equipment I had accumulated over the years into a much simpler, more effective working system in a very short space of time.

I’ve had my computer for approx 4 years but never been quite happy with it. Recently “gremlins” seemed to have got into the system so I contacted Jan for help. Not only has he sorted the “gremlins”, but he has offered very helpful tips and information on general use of the computer. I think in future I might just possibly enjoy using it rather than it being a chore! I shall certainly seek Jan’s help and advice again.

Rejuvenation + Comprehension

Having suffered from a moribund PC for several months – action was required, thus with hesitation a call was made to OakleyIT; the hesitancy need not have been. Jan listened to my list of problems, rationalised them and suggested that the most cost effective way to proceed was an upgraded PC. He sourced a good quality replacement, very modestly priced, changed all the material from my old PC giving good and very helpful advice on operating methods whilst doing so, all accomplished speedily at a reasonable cost, so I will not hesitate to recomend Jan for any future P.C. requirements I may have. Result! A very happy user, thanks Jan.

Laptop Hard Drive Failure

Just what I needed

Oakley IT were helpful and professional in their approach. I had a problem with my laptop, they fixed it at a convenient location and in extra quick time, I use my laptop everyday for my job so it was essential I wasn’t with out for long! Great Service – 100% satisfied

Jan gave my machine a full MOT along with a full breakdown of what had been done and recommendations should I want to make it faster and even more efficient. Updating my computer

As usual Jan has been efficient and worked quickly. He has updated my computer from XP to Windows 7.

Encryption software

Jan uploaded some encryption software onto my laptop that I needed for my job. He took time to explain everything to me and also gave me lots of advice on improving the performance of my laptop.
